Web development and digital presence

A custom-built website for your business, or a rebuild of the one you have, kept fast, secure and up to date after launch.

Published Updated By Remidiy

Short answer: Remidiy builds custom websites for businesses, or fully redesigns the one you already have, and then manages them for you: hosting, DNS, security updates, regular maintenance, updates to your hours, services and photos, and functionality checks after every change.

It suits businesses of any size, anywhere in the United States, that want a fast, secure, search-friendly site without becoming the person who keeps it running. You pay a fixed one-time setup fee and then a monthly subscription tier; there's no hourly billing.

A website isn't finished on launch day. Hours change, services change, photos get stale, and the software underneath needs updates. Most small-business sites go wrong not because they were built badly but because nobody owned them afterwards. This service covers both halves: the build, and the care that keeps it accurate.

What's included

  • A custom build, or a full redesign. No templates and no website builders. The site is shaped around how your customers find and choose you.
  • Taking over an existing site. We audit what you have and rebuild it as a fast site, migrating the parts worth keeping: URLs, SEO equity, content and photos.
  • Managed hosting and DNS. DNS is the address book that points your domain at your website and your email. We set it up and look after it.
  • Security updates and regular maintenance. The website software we manage is kept up to date. See website maintenance and security for what that covers.
  • Content kept current. Hours, services and photos updated when your business changes.
  • Functionality checks after changes. After updates, we check that the important parts of the site still work together.
  • Search-friendly foundations. We handle the technical pieces, such as structured data (schema), so search engines and AI tools can read the site. Ongoing SEO work is its own service: local SEO and Google Business Profile.

How it works

  1. Audit. A short discovery call, then a written audit of where you stand online. Together we work out which pieces you actually need.
  2. Build. We build the pieces you chose: the site alone, or the site plus your Google profile, automation or email. Fixed scope, fixed price, quoted up front.
  3. Manage. A monthly subscription tier matched to what we're managing for you, billed predictably and scaled to your actual needs.

You deal with one team and one point of contact the whole way through, and everything is explained in plain English. You don't need to be technical.

How pricing works

There are two parts. A one-time setup fee covers the audit, the build and onboarding. It's a fixed scope at a fixed price, quoted after a short discovery call. A tiered monthly subscription then covers ongoing management: updates, tuning, maintenance, monitoring and support. Tiers match what we manage for you and can change as your needs do.

We don't list dollar amounts or "starting at" numbers, because the honest price depends on what you need. There's no hourly billing, no hidden fees and no surprise add-ons.

What a good business website does

Whoever builds yours, judge the result against the questions a visitor arrives with: what do you do, where are you, when are you open, how do I contact you, and how do I book, buy or get a quote? If someone on a phone can't answer those within a few seconds, the site isn't doing its job, however it looks.

Beyond that, a good site should be:

  • Fast on a phone. Google's Core Web Vitals give clear targets: the main content should load within 2.5 seconds (LCP), the page should respond to a tap within 200 milliseconds (INP), and the layout shouldn't jump around (CLS under 0.1) (web.dev: Web Vitals). Our website speed guide explains each one.
  • Built for mobile first. Readable text, buttons big enough to tap, and a phone number that dials when tapped. See mobile-friendly websites.
  • Accessible. Usable by keyboard and screen reader, with enough colour contrast. WCAG 2.2 level AA from the W3C is the usual benchmark (W3C: WCAG 2.2).
  • Readable by search engines and AI. Real text in the page's HTML, clear titles and descriptions, and structured data that describes your business. Google's SEO Starter Guide covers the basics; so do our on-page SEO and AI search visibility guides.
  • Trustworthy. A real address and phone number, current hours, and secure HTTPS. See contact and trust signals.

Questions to ask any web developer

These are worth asking us or anyone else before you sign:

  • Whose name is the domain registered in, and who holds the login?
  • Is the price fixed for a defined scope, or billed by the hour?
  • What exactly does the monthly fee cover: hosting, DNS, updates, content changes, support?
  • Who applies security updates after launch, and who checks the site still works afterwards?
  • If you're replacing an existing site, how will current URLs be kept or redirected so you don't lose search traffic?
  • Will I deal with one person, or be handed between a designer, a developer and an account manager?

What to have ready

You don't need a brief or a sitemap. A discovery call goes faster if you know roughly:

  • Your services, how you describe them, and any prices you're happy to publish.
  • Your hours, including seasonal or holiday changes.
  • The one thing you most want visitors to do: call, book, request a quote or visit.
  • The questions customers ask you most often by phone.
  • Where your domain is registered and who has access to it, and the address of your current site if you have one.
  • Any real photos of your work, team or premises.

Want to see where your current site stands first? Run the free website checker. It reviews public information about security, speed, SEO, AI crawler access, email and domain records and contact details, and links each problem to a fix guide. Website health check explained walks through the results, and the guides index lists every fix guide.

Common questions

How much does a custom business website cost?

It depends on the scope, so we don't publish a price list. With Remidiy you pay a one-time setup fee, quoted as a fixed price after a free discovery call, and then a monthly subscription tier matched to what we manage for you. There's no hourly billing.

Can you redesign my existing website instead of starting from scratch?

Yes. We audit what you have and rebuild it as a fast site, migrating the parts worth keeping: URLs, SEO equity, content and photos.

Do you use templates or website builders?

No. Remidiy websites are custom built, without templates or website builders, so the site is shaped around your business rather than around a theme's layout.

Who looks after hosting and updates once the site is live?

We do, as part of ongoing management: managed hosting and DNS, security updates, regular maintenance, content updates and functionality checks after changes. That work is covered by your monthly subscription.

Do you build websites for businesses outside New York?

Yes. We work with businesses anywhere in the United States. Discovery calls, audits and builds are all done remotely; our Albany, NY office is home base.
